Over the years, several stunning Miss Indias have used the opportunity to impact others’ lives, kickstart their own acting careers, and/or of course take some steps towards “world peace”. Each of these beauties has come a long way since winning the prestigious title, exemplifying how time changes everything. Here’s a look at 7 transformation pictures.
1. Sushmita Sen
Best known for her splendid win as Miss Universe in 1994, Sushmita truly made the country proud as 
the first Indian to win the title. She then went on to debut in Bollywood, 
giving some memorable and varied performances in movies like Main Hoon Na, Chingaari and Samay. 
Having adopted two young daughters, today she continues to set an example as a single mother. 
She has also been awarded the Mother Teresa International Award for her social work.

2. Aishwarya Rai
Considered amongst the most beautiful women in the world, Aishwarya Rai rocketed to fame when she won 
Miss World in 1994. One of the most sought after actresses in Bollywood, 
she’s got quite the fan following in Hollywood too with key roles in Bride and Prejudice, 
The Mistress of Spices, The Pink Panther 2, and 
The Last Legion. Rai is a red carpet favourite at the annual Cannes film festival, 
mostly for her bold fashion choices, including this year’s much debated lavender lipstick. 
She also enjoys long-standing associations with global brands as the ambassador for Longines, Lux, and L’Oreal, among others.

3. Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra was crowned Miss World in 2000. With time, not only has she grown increasingly stylish,
 but also gone on to become a successful actress. 
At the top of her game in Bollywood with movies like Barfi, Mary Kom, Bajirao Mastani and Jai Gangaajal, 
Chopra is also something of an international icon – she’s the only South Asian woman to be playing a lead role in an American series, Quantico, will be a part of Baywatch (the movie), 
and been on both Jimmy Kimmel Live and 
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. 
Oh, and she’s made her mark as a singer too – including collaborations with Pitbull, will.i.am, J.Lo and Akon.

4. Lara Dutta
Miss Universe 2000, Lara Dutta made her debut in Bollywood with the movie Andaaz, 
for which she received the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. 
She went on to work with some of Bollywood’s best directors appearing in box office hits including Don 2, No Entry, 
Masti and Partner.

5. Dia Mirza
Dia Mirza was crowned Miss Asia Pacific in 2000. She then went on to debut in 
Bollywood with the superhit movie Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein. She also appeared in other movies like Deewanapan, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge,Tumsa Nahin Dekha – A Love Story, Parineeta and Lage Raho Munnabhai. 
Today she co-owns a production house, Born Free Entertainment, 
with her husband Sahil Sangha, and is known for her social work with 
the Cancer Patients Aid Association and Spastics Society of India.

6. Neha Dhupia
Neha Dhupia is the winner of Femina Miss India in 2002. She made her big-screen debut in Bollywood with the 2003 release of Qayamat opposite Ajay Devgn, followed by box office hits including Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, Shootout at Lokhandwala and Chup Chup Ke.

7. Tanushree Dutta
Tanushree was crowned Femina Miss India Universe in 2004. She was also amongst the top 10 finalists at 
the Miss Universe pageant in the same year. Post her Miss India win, Bollywood offers started pouring in. 
She first appeared on the big screen in 2005 with Chocolate, also starring veteran actors Anil Kapoor and Suniel Shetty.
