1) The secret behind her name
Genelia was named after her mother Jeanette and her father Neil. Also, she is fonly known as Geenu, back home.

2) Her B-town debut and the beginning of a love story
Genelia’s first break on a B-town silver screen was with 2003’s Tujhe Meri Kasam, opposite Riteish Deshmukh. 
It should be noted that this film is where they met for the first time and eventually fell in love. 
But what’s more interesting is that they did not get along, initially, at all! Truly filmy, right?

3) Her first Filmfare!
Her first ever Filmfare trophy was for the Telugu film Bommarillu, back in the year 2006. 
Her performance in the film was lauded by one and all and it helped her get a firm footing in the Telugu film industry.

4) She’s a formidable sportswoman
Genelia is an all-rounder, it seems. Not only is she a talented actress, but she was also a State Level athlete
