With apologies to Queen Rowling, allow us to begin: On a promotional spree for her upcoming movie, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Sonam Kapoor managed to hit the headlines yet again after she rationalized that the most optimal way to solve gender inequality when it comes to remuneration is for women to stop working for those who pay less.  Indeed, at a recent interaction with the press, Sonam said, “They complain about equal pay and I understand that. If you think you deserve something, fight for it and the best way to fight for it, is by not doing it. So don’t work for those people who you think are not paying you enough. Don’t complain about it.” She quickly drew the ire of netizens with many comparing her statement to that of not keeping money if you don’t want to get robbed. Sonam also went to declare herself a complete feminist by saying, “I am a complete feminist... Being a feminist is to understand that it’s not about boys and girls, it’s about being who you are, not being afraid, and standing up for what you believe is right.” “My father is the best person I know because he encourages me and my sister. He treats me as a strong capable individual and for that he is a feminist. He believes that these girls are more than capable of doing a lot of things which a lot of people are not. “I have never been afraid of being who I am, so for me, my father is a feminist in that way,” she further added. Not so long ago, Deepika was also asked to comment on the pay inequality and diplomatically demurred by saying, "I am not unhappy with what I am being paid. For me, it’s important that I do good work. Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir have been around for so long. They are in a different league.
