1) Background

Richa was born on 28th December 1988 in Delhi, where she completed her schooling and got her Bachelor’s in History. After that, she moved to Mumbai to pursue her higher studies, and ultimately where she found glory.

2) Before Bollywood

Richa began her career as a model, and she was also one of the contestants on Gladrags Megamodel 2008. She was also pursuing theatre back then and she has toured across India and Pakistan with her troupe.

3) Lucky Lucky Debut Oye

Richa made her big-screen debut with Dibakar Banerjee’s Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, and she mesmerized the audiences and, most importantly, the critics with her portrayal of ‘Dolly.’

4) Her food preferences?

If you were ever to take Richa out on a date, a “Pure Veg” restaurant would be the best choice because Richa is a vegetarian! Infact, she even posed as a mermaid for PETA in 2014 urging people to avoid eating fish. 

5) Glorious moments

Her portrayal of Nagma Khatoon in Gangs of Wasseypur 1 & 2 won her the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. In an interview, she even stated that GoW helped her bag 11 more roles. Richa’s recent flick Masaan received rave reviews and just reinforced her image as an evolved and highly skilled actor.

6) Is she single?

She was until Cannes 2015 happened. Not only did Masaan win a lot of accolades, but rumours have it that Richa fell in love with French actor-director Franck Gasambide. Images of the couple vacationing in L.A. are bound to break your hearts, lovers.

7) What next?

Richa will be seen leading Cabaret, Pooja Bhatt’s directorial, opposite Deepak Tijori, Mukul Dev and Sreesanth. Apart from that, Main aur Charles is releasing in a few days, and she will be seen as Chandramukhi in Aur Devdas. It’s safe to say that Richa’s plate is quite full.
