1) ‘Shooting’ Troubles

Probably one of the earliest and biggest controversies to surround Bhai, the 1999 ‘blackbuck hunting case’ caused furore throughout the country. Salman, along with his ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ co-stars were accused of poaching the endangered species of black buck while shooting for the film in Rajasthan.

2) The Hit and Run Case

Just when people were slowly forgetting the poaching allegations along came another blow, when Salman “allegedly” ran his SUV over a few pavement dwellers, killing one and injuring three. Bhai’s career is filled with a lot of hits, films and otherwise.

3) The ugliest breakup in Bollywood

2002 was a really bad year for Salman, because not only was he embroiled in the black buck shooting case, but his affair with Aishwarya Rai came to an ugly end. Matters grew worse when an audio clip of him abusing the actress got leaked into the media, and all hell broke loose when Vivek Oberoi came into the picture. It was one big mess!

When Salman performed at Akhilesh Yadav’s Saifai Mahotsav, he received a lot of flak from fans and media alike because children were dying in relief camps all the while he was performing. While fellow performer Alia apologized, Salman retorted by saying that he was simply doing his job. Well, he is right after all.
